Description

Asbestos from renovation and demolition.

Collection

Prior to collection, asbestos should be sanitized by approved asbestos sanitizers.

Asbestos is collected on a pallet, packed in double-layer plastic, or in an approved bulk bag, labeled, basic characterized, and declared according to current regulations.

Processing

Asbestos is delivered to an approved reception/landfill.

Recycling

Asbestos is to be taken out of circulation and is not to be recycled.

Non-compliance

Asbestos that is not properly packed in is refused by the waste reception facility.  Non-compliance will incur additional costs. The driver will not take hazardous waste if the declaration is not completed.

Special risk factors

Concrete is not dangerous but avoid inhaling dust and direct exposure. Asbestos dust is carcinogenic and those who work with this should therefore not be exposed to asbestos dust. The plastic that the asbestos is packed in, must therefore be intact. Be careful when handling this.
